ACRRES is an acronym for Application Centre for Renewable REsources and is the national applied research centre for sustainable energy and green raw materials. The applied research centre is a joint effort of the Lelystad research institutes Applied Plant Research and the Animal Sciences Group, both part of Wageningen UR, and ENECO. ACRRES investigates the possibilities of algae as a new (agricultural) crop and also considers biorefinery of algae biomass, which occurs as a component in a number of projects.
